Summer is here and I find myself trying to find ways to fill the extra hours we have at home. We live in Houston. The calendar says summer doesn't officially begin until June 21, the melting people tell us otherwise. For some reason heat makes the general population a bit more on edge and reaching for a cold something more frequently. It also makes me avoid the back sweat producing act of loading and unloading kids from car seats if at all possible. So to avoid yet another trip to the store with however many kids, here is my best Amazon Summer Survival Order.
Yeti 10oz Low Ball : Whether its my morning cold brew coffee, my mid-morning coffee, afternoon adult beverage, or whatever on the go drink of choice... this thing is my perfect size and its a yeti. Im sure I'll upgrade to the 20oz soon enough, but this is my ideal size for not water.
Good Pop Organic Freezer Pops: My kids are obsessed with popsicles, but I am never running to the grocery store to head right home before they melt. So a midnight nursing session amazon scroll, these were found! I love this brand for the actual popsicles, so when I found they made freezer pops- 1-click buy.
My Cold Brew set up- At some point I'll post about my coffee recipes that get me through whatever kind of day I'm having. But, this Cold Brew filter is my favorite for making overnight coffee. All you need is a 64oz Mason Jar, decent coffee beans, and patience to let it brew for 12-24hours.
This pool- it lasts about 1 summer for us, but we buy it every year as it packs up small and I don't have to inflate anything. We have a neighborhood pool, but I haven't gotten brave enough for hauling 3 non-swimmers in swim diapers there yet solo.
Freezer Pop Holder- My girls can finally handle frozen yogurt and freezer pops, but I hate my hands being cold and I'm just going to assume they do to. These are awesome, and if I had a vinyl cutter I'd put their names on them. For the price, if we lose them or ruin them I'm not upset.
Sticker Books galore - My 4-year old loves stickers and my 2-year old is slowly gaining interest. I love these educational ones on Shapes and ABC Activities. This one a friend posted about and we have been obsessed ever since. The make a meal one is just a fun time killer during afternoon nap strikes.
This tea set- We have lost and forgotten pieces since we got this two christmases ago. But, its a fan favorite here at the Cardoza house. The girls are obsessed with pouring water and "tea" and all the things with this toy. I don't even mind buying a second (or third *cough cough*) set if its a favorite.
Water Balloons- We probably should get better about clean up, but these are an easy "hey play outside while i do dishes" activity that requires little supervision from me, and keeps them occupied for 15 minutes. They blow through a bundle pretty quickly- sigh.
These are a few of my Amazon order must haves for the summer with my crew. What are some of yours? I know if Amazon sold wine, I'd probably have it on my monthly order. HAH. We are just getting started, and even today we were outside eating all the cold things, breaking all the water balloons, and acting our age not our shoe size. Stay cool friends!
